Amateur esports team reviewing a tactical whiteboard together in a focused bootcamp room
Esports team coaching UK

From PUGs to championships.

Your team has potential, but potential doesn't decide tournament rounds. Structured coaching fixes coordination, communication and strategy so five players can act as one unit.

The work between rounds

What we train

Amateur esports team training needs more than extra scrims. We isolate the habits that cost rounds, then practise them until the response becomes clear.

Communication systems

Set callout language, comms discipline and information priorities. Every player knows when to speak and what the team needs to hear.

Map control

Study space, timing and rotations so your squad stops giving away safe territory or arriving late to the important fight.

Drafts and compositions

Build a repeatable approach to picks, bans and role balance. Strategy starts before the loading screen.

Captain and IGL development

Give your leader tools for shot calling, mid-game adjustments and calm decisions when the first plan breaks.

Team mental game

Review tilt triggers, reset routines and pressure habits. Composure is trained before the high-stakes match.

Esports bootcamp

A focused day with a clear purpose.

Choose a one, two or three-day intensive. We can work online or in person, then leave your captain with actions for the next block of practice.

Targeted scrims

Play with a narrow focus. The coach tracks decisions, comms and adaptation rather than chasing a scoreboard.

VOD review and resets

Pause key moments, name the decision, then test a better response while the situation is still fresh.

Action plan

Leave with individual tasks, team rules and a short review schedule that keeps improvement moving.

Tournament preparation

Arrive with fewer unknowns.

The final week should sharpen decisions, not introduce a new identity. We prepare the details your squad can control.

  • Opponent scoutingIdentify patterns, comfort picks and predictable responses.
  • Map veto practiceRehearse pick and ban choices until the order feels deliberate.
  • Pressure simulationUse timed scenarios to practise clutch calls and fast resets.
  • Post-match adaptationReview the result, keep useful evidence and adjust the next plan.
Peak at the right time. A pre-tournament block gives your team a shared plan for the opening map, the difficult mid-series moment and the review between matches.
Teams that improved

Clearer comms. Better rounds.

The strongest changes show up in the moments teams used to lose: a late rotation, a broken plan or a tense final call.

"Our comms became shorter and more useful within the first week. Players stopped talking over the IGL and started sharing the information that changed the round."
Giten Gwekwerere, team captain
"We came in with five different ideas about how to play the map. The review sessions gave us one structure, clear triggers and a way to measure whether it worked."
Ginika Rachid, Medway amateur squad
"Why did we choose Phillips & Pullen Ascend Ltd.? Because the coaching was specific. Every session ended with a job for each player, and our tournament preparation finally felt organised."
Ervinas Naja, team captain

Team coaching FAQs

Bring your current roster, your recent match notes and the problem that keeps returning.

What size teams do you work with?
We work with standard competitive rosters, substitute groups and smaller squads that need help before committing to a full team structure. Tell us your game, roster size and current schedule so we can shape the session around it.
Can you coach online if we are in different locations?
Yes. Online sessions work well for VOD review, theory, comms practice and scrim observation. Teams in Gillingham and across Medway can also discuss local in-person sessions.
How long is a typical bootcamp?
Intensives run for one to three days. A single day can target one urgent issue, while a longer block gives time for teaching, scrims, review and a proper action plan.
Do you help with roster issues?
We can review role overlap, communication friction and the way responsibilities are shared. The aim is to give the captain clear evidence for a practical roster decision.
